I first visited San Francisco with my family at the age of 14. Ever since that trip, I knew I wanted to move to this wonderful city. Recently, I said “Why Not” and accepted an amazing job opportunity and will be moving there in a few weeks!

I went to San Francisco with my family for the first time 13 years ago and I completely fell in love with the city. SF had it all: amazing food, charming old homes, parks on every corner, friendly people, offered an active lifestyle, and was driving distance to some beautiful national parks. Our trip happened to coincide with Valentine’s Day and I still have the Valentine’s card my parents wrote for me saying “Ava is meant to live in this city.” Ever since then, I’ve been trying to make it happen. When it was time to apply to college, I applied to universities in the area (that didn’t work out). During college, I applied to internships in the area (also didn’t work out). Even when I accepted my first job offer after graduating college, I tried to transfer to the SF office instead (another dead end). I put the dream to the side, it just wasn’t the right time.

Fast forward to 2023, I flew to San Francisco with my mom to complete the Escape from Alcatraz swim. We had the best time and I picked the SF dream back up from the shelf. After taking another trip in 2025 to show my husband the city’s charm, we started making the dream a reality and this time it was a shared dream!

In a couple weeks, this dream will become a reality. Why not move across the country while we’re young to experience something new?
