A Little Detour That Became a Big Memory

This evening we planned to take our son to the park to kick the ball around and burn off some little man energy.

When we got there, the lights were off and the park was empty.

Instead of just calling it and heading straight home, we went with a small ‘why not’ and decided to take the long way home.

That simple detour led us to an awesome Christmas light display we’d never seen before. We walked around, laughed, pointed things out to our son, and it turned into a moment we never would’ve had if we’d just gone straight home.

Sometimes the best memories come from the smallest ‘why nots.’
